Today, Sunday, Feb. 10, we are launching a stewardship campaign for our 2019 budget, which was passed at the Vestry meeting last Sunday.
We continue to run the Capital Campaign for Our Church Home to pay for needed repairs and upgrades to the building. But this campaign focuses on the operating expenses – those everyday costs such as salaries, programs, utilities, mortgage payments and our share of the expenses of the Diocese of Huron.
We have chosen the theme of Gratitude for this campaign, because the leadership of the church is grateful for the ministries that you offer and the financial support you give to your church.
And most of all, we are grateful to God for the many gifts he has given us. The operations of this church are an expression of our love and service to our God.
Over the next few weeks, you will hear some members of this church as well as people in the wider community give a short talk about their gratitude and thankfulness for Church of the Ascension. We hope these will inspire you to be generous in your support of the church as we move toward Commitment Sunday on March 17.
